PART 5

A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones......Ecclesiastes 3:5a (NLT)

Are you a Living Stone?! Most people have never thought of themselves this way. But you are!! Here is what 1 Peter 2:5 says "And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What's more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God"!


When we think of "stones" in the modern sense, we think of gems!! Precious stones! Rubies, sapphires or the ones we will see in Heaven - Lapis Lazulis! 


Stones are prominent in the Bible. On the day the Israelites entered the Promised Land, God told Joshua to build an altar of twelve stones as a memorial of this amazing fulfillment. These stones represented the Twelve Tribes. King David took out Goliath with one little smooth stone from a stream, while he was still a wee little lad...as we all remember from our bible stories.


But YOU, beloved, are a LIVING STONE! You are a gem that has been grinded down and polished by the scars and battles of time, life and trials! Many of us know these things and more. Many have constant turmoil and tribulation in their lives. 


To them, I say, humbly, remember the God Who poured breath and blessings into you! Remember the God Who lives in you, (if you know Christ personally as your Savior). Remember the God Who holds you up as a literal shining Jewel of His Love and Favor.

Remember this my friends, and then you can grasp the meaning of this verse about Scattering Stones....He is talking about LIVING STONES!! For sure, do not cast your gemstones before swine (as Christ said) but gather them into a body...the Body of Christ, to show His Kingdom here on Earth.
