DAY 39/40 DAYS OF PRAYER FOR AMERICA

THE WORD OF THE LORD
Today - Tuesday November 6 is a turning point in the life of this nation, and therefore the world. It is so, not because God has ordained it, but because man - in his sinfulness - has brought calamity upon himself and children for generations to come. It is not just the crushing national debt on those not yet born (up to $219,000 per person!!!!), but the moral and spiritual hole which sin has thrown this country and all we influence, into.

So as we pray for our families on this day, as we pray for those who vote on this day, as we pray for those who will be elected this day - from the city councilman to the president of the United States - let us simply go right back to the source and pray. What will follow here has already been prayed over. Use these scriptures, if you feel led, to pray in any fashion you may wish. However, do remember that the Lord will NOT put up with sin, imprecatory prayer to harm others and prayers/petitions done with an ungodly spirit.

FOR THE NATION:
Let all the earth fear the LORD;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing;
he frustrates the plans of the peoples.
The counsel of the LORD stands forever,
the plans of his heart to all generations.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!
The LORD looks down from heaven;
he sees all the children of man;
from where he sits enthroned he looks out
on all the inhabitants of the earth,
he who fashions the hearts of them all
and observes all their deeds.
The king is not saved by his great army;
a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.
The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
and by its great might it cannot rescue(Psalm 33:8-17 ESV)

FOR THE FAMILY:
Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love,
that he may deliver their soul from death
and keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waits for the LORD;
he is our help and our shield.
For our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us,
even as we hope in you. (Psalm 33:18-22 ESV)

FOR THOSE WHO WILLFULLY CORRUPT:
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in. (Matthew 23:13 ESV)
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. (Matthew 23:25-28 ESV)

HOPE FOR CRITICAL TIMES
Psalm 27:4-5 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.  For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.
Mark 5:35-36  While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.”

Numbers 23:19  God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
John 4:13-14 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

HOPE IN THE LORD ALWAYS!

1 Corinthians 15:19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18  So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
1 Peter 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Blessed be the Father, Blessed be the Son, Blessed be the Spirit, God Three in One. Holy Father in Heaven, seal Thy precious Word, given here, directly from Heaven, seal it in our hearts that we may stand on this Rock - the Word of Christ - all day today, and for the rest of our lives. Father, our fate and Faith are in Your capable Hands! Our Hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' Blood and righteousness and not in the affairs and machinations of mortal men and women. In You and You alone we trust. We claim these Truths as our own, now and always, and walk in His Marvelous Light...looking for the Day of His Glorious Appearing when our Faith shall be Sight. When the clouds be rolled back as a scroll, I stand with my fellow saints in the fulfillment of the Hope that is within us. In the Holy and Precious Name of the Lord Jesus, amen.
