For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself (Romans 14:7 NASB)

"I shall pass through this world but once.
Any good, therefore that I can show to any human being,
Let me do it now.
Let me not defer nor neglect it,
For I shall not pass this way again." (by Stephen Grellet).
This wee little poem in a nutshell captures, in essence, what the Christian life is about.

The common denominator of this entire chapter we have dug deep into for two weeks now is LOVE.
It was love that caused God to create Adam and Eve in the Garden. It was love that caused Him to set Moses on the Rock of Christ to lead the captives out of Egypt.

It was love that wrote the Prayer Book of the Bible - the Psalms.
It was love that sent the Creator of the Universe, the Word of Life, the King of Kings - to the Cross.
It was love and Love is Christ.

You have heard it said that the chief end or purpose of men and women is to glorify God - to worship Him. God created Adam and Eve to fellowship with them "in the cool of the evening". They blew it - these we blew it. We carry the original sin in our nature. But His plan has not changed! He created us for Himself.

Thus, when we live in our own hedonistic little selfish world, we sidetrack the plan! We really do, folks. However God gives us chance after chance after chance. When we think He could not stand another minute of us, He draws us to Himself again and loves on us! This is the kind of Father, Abba, Daddy that He is!

Therefore, our life is not our own! If you want to live a peaceful, joyful, happy life - you have to understand your life only exists because you do not own it...and when you and I die...we still don't own it. WE GET TO LIVE IT...and live it in Eternity...with Christ. So in the final analysis...and am loving every minute of this Chapter, make something of it.

Many life-saving ministries and organizations were started by ordinary people like you and I. These are things which make a difference and more importantly - HAVE ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES. Whether your passion is saving and rescuing babies from abortion, or feeding the homeless or reading the Bible at Hospice it, as UNTO Christ, and He will reward you in Heaven!
