THINK ON THESE THINGS - MONDAY

LABOR DAY DEVOTIONAL
PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!
Work has become a precious commodity as unemployment skyrockets and hope for the future declines. Anybody who is not thankful for his/her job in this world today, is both an ingrate to the God Who gave them that job and the person who signs their paycheck.

There is no right to a job anywhere on this planet...but it was not always so. Read Genesis 2:15 NASB " The the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden, to cultivate it and keep or maintain it." That's it!! He had finished naming all the animals and held this upright position with God.

After Adam and Eve committed original sin in Genesis 3, God changed the nature and definition of work and it was not the pleasant task of running the unbelievable beauty of the Garden of Eden! Here is what God told Adam in Genesis after he listened to Eve and said in Genesis 3:17 " Cursed is the ground because of you, in toil (or very hard work) you will eat of it all the days of your life".

We live under this curse, my friends. But it is also a blessing because if we do right by the Lord, fear Him and follow His ways, He will always provide for us. He will never abandon us.

Those of us who are saved and sanctified are spoken of in Psalm 37:25 where King David said "I was young and now am old and have never seen the righteous forsaven or his children begging bread".  Horrible times and the Tribulation is coming. If you serve and obey God, He will keep the promise we see here in the Psalm.

So on this Labor, the key word is gratitude...assume the attitude of Gratitude to the One from Whom all Blessings flow!
