No! Some may ask the following: "If GRACE is FREE and UNMERITED favor, why can't I take this for granted all the time? Isn't God supposed to forgive ALL my sins ALL the time?"
Well, yes. But also be prepared to be disciplined if sin persists...or if it is a HUGE glaring sin! Romans 6:1-2a (NLT) says " Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more kindness and forgiveness? Of course not!"
King David sinned and broke every single commandment BUT when God sent the prophet Nathan(2 Samuel 12) to confront/expose David, Nathan told him that God was NOT going to kill him for the outrageous sin of murder, adultery etc. So the penalty IS death - literal death.
The sinner is saved, but God can exact any justice He wishes. Hebrews 12:6 says "For the LORD disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child."
We face many temptations each day because our dying vessel still lives in the natural. But if we fortify our minds, though we may be distracted for an instant - immediately the Word and the Spirit of God will redirect us to the correct place we should be, so we WILL NOT SIN. Therefore today, when this happens, LISTEN TO HIS VOICE and do not use your Salvation, the Grace and Gifts of God and the Goodness of God to sanction wanton and blatant sin against His Holy Name.
Fall back on Christ. Cry out to Him. His Spirit lives in us. He will show us how to resist the devil. Flee immorality. Rebuke the devil in the Name of Jesus. One little word will fell him - Satan...and that Word is Jesus!!!!
