16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

THE 3:16 VERSES OF THE BIBLE: PART 23 "THE SECOND COMING, IT IS OVER- THE FULL BIBLE ACCOUNT OF THE END OF THE NATIONS"

I heard and my inward parts trembled, at the sound my lips quivered. Decay enters my bones, and in my place I tremble. Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress, for the people to arise who will invade us. (Habakkuk 3:16)

We hear a lot in Christian circles, for centuries, if not almost 2000 years, about the Second Coming of the Risen Christ.  At His Ascension into Heaven, as recorded in Acts 1:9-11 , the Angel of God said the following: “9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them. 11 They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

Since then, many movements, movies, books and preachers have delivered thousands of predictions about the Blessed Event, when the Savior returns to Earth to reclaim His Creation. There is a qualifier for this Blessed Event – it is only so for the Redeemed. These are the ones who have been saved by the Blood of the Lamb and have accepted Him as Lord and Master of their lives. For everyone else, it will not be a pleasant day! 

We have all seen the End Times movies which precede the Second Coming of Christ. Revelation 19:11-16 describes the vivid scene of the Eastern skies cutting open on that fateful day when all the armies of heaven are released by the Father to be led into the final battle by the Commander in Chief of the Universe Himself – Jesus. 

We get a vivid picture of what the actual Second Appearing looks like in detail. We read here (Revelation 19:11-16)

 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

This much is true:

• Jesus is coming back. No debate about this.
• He said so. The Holy Spirit confirms this Truth.
• First He will send His Angels to bring in His children still alive (the Rapture or Taking Up as recorded in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
• This removal of the church from the earth, will signify the End of the Church Age. The dead in Christ will be raised before those who are still alive.
• When Jesus returns after this, all Heaven will break loose and it is not going to be pretty.

A not so well known passage from Isaiah 63:1-6 provides and Interview between the Holy Spirit Who related the Scriptures from Heaven and Jesus, the Warrior King who is in the midst of just defeating the pagan nations of the world gathered against Him. There is no need to expound on the extent of the absolutely COMPLETE destructions of millions of military personnel from every army of the world and more.

Read this incredible interview here because outside of Scripture, no Christian believer in Christ will be around to see it:

GOD'S VENGEANCE ON THE NATIONS (POST-ARMAGEDDON INTERVIEW)

1 Who is this who comes from Edom,

With garments of glowing colors from Bozrah,

This One who is majestic in His apparel,

Marching in the greatness of His strength?

“It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”

2 Why is Your apparel red,

And Your garments like the one who treads in the wine press?

3 “I have trodden the wine trough alone,

And from the peoples there was no man with Me.

I also trod them in My anger

And trampled them in My wrath;

And their lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments,

And I stained all My raiment.

4 “For the day of vengeance was in My heart,

And My year of redemption has come.

5 “I looked, and there was no one to help,

And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold;

So My own arm brought salvation to Me,

And My wrath upheld Me.

6 “I trod down the peoples in My anger

And made them drunk in My wrath,

And I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.” (Isaiah 63:1-6)

In both passages here, we have the Arrival of the Commander in Chief for war with the Armies of Heaven, which contain men like King David and Joshua. The bookend above is almost like a post-battle interview. However, what Habakkuk 3 describes is the visual of the fearsome sight of the Second Coming of the King to put an end to this current madness and the reaction on earth! As far as I know, this is the only portion of prophetic Scripture which describes the atmospherics on earth when the Armies of Heaven descend from the Heavens to wipe out the remaining rebels on earth.

In plain language from via Habakkuk chapter 3:3-13, we read in stunned silence the following:

THE FINAL BATTLE OF HISTORY (LIVE)

3 God comes from Teman,

And the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah.

His splendor covers the heavens,

And the earth is full of His praise.

4 His radiance is like the sunlight;

He has rays flashing from His hand,

And there is the hiding of His power.

5 Before Him goes pestilence,

And plague comes after Him.

6 He stood and surveyed the earth;

He looked and startled the nations.

Yes, the perpetual mountains were shattered,

The ancient hills collapsed.

His ways are everlasting.

7 I saw the tents of Cushan under distress,

The tent curtains of the land of Midian were trembling.

8 Did the Lord rage against the rivers,

Or was Your anger against the rivers,

Or was Your wrath against the sea,

That You rode on Your horses,

On Your chariots of salvation?

9 Your bow was made bare,

The rods of chastisement were sworn. Selah.

You cleaved the earth with rivers.

10 The mountains saw You and quaked;

The downpour of waters swept by.

The deep uttered forth its voice,

It lifted high its hands.

11 Sun and moon stood in their places;

They went away at the light of Your arrows,

At the radiance of Your gleaming spear.

12 In indignation You marched through the earth;

In anger Youtrampled the nations.

13 You went forth for the salvation of Your people,

For the salvation of Your anointed.

You struck the head of the house of the evil

To lay him open from thigh to neck. Selah.

Then Habakkuk reacts shaking with fear at the terrible events, which he sees coming in the future (not to long from now), in verse 16:

“I heard and my inward parts trembled,

At the sound my lips quivered.

Decay enters my bones,

And in my place I tremble.

Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress,

For the people to arise who will invade us.

It would benefit many eternally to do the following:

• Believe this and everything written in the Bible! Pleading ignorance on Judgment Day or when Left Behind because your sins have not been forgiven or you are not born again, will never fly. The whole entire world knows Who Jesus Christ is and how to get to Heaven. Lack of belief in this fact is on the individual, not God. Your eternity is in the balance here, whether you believe it or not. A friend of mine once did a funeral for the brother of one of his acquaintances. After the eulogies, he gave the Gospel and the funeral proceeded. Afterwards, the brother of the deceased came up to my fellow preacher and said "you know, my brother did not believe in that STUFF (meaning the Gospel)!" My friend calmly responded "he does now!". Take a chance at your own peril.
• For those of us who believe, our job is to stay the course. But not just hang in there until the end, but to persevere with power. Within every true Christian resides the same Power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead - the Holy Spirit. He is the very Power of God and IS God. He dwells within the spirit of each born again believer and not just seals us for Heaven, as our guarantee that we cannot lose our Salvation, but can unleash as much power from the Throne as we would allow. It is up to us Christians to avail ourselves not just of the Knowledge of the Holy One but the Wisdom of the Word which cometh from the Throne. Herein lies the real power - when we study diligently, when we pray fervently and when we worship passionately. Unlike the unbelieving majority of the world, we will not be around when all the events prophesied by God above is going to happened, because He has removed us from destruction by His Grace. However if we can prevent even one person from having to face the Wrath of God brought on by sin, we must try. Let us then proceed to proclaim Him, and to preach Him as Lord and the God Who forgives and saves. After all, that is what the Name of Jesus literally means - He Who Saves. Amen.

THE 3:16 VERSES OF THE BIBLE, PART 22: "A REFUGE IN ARMAGEDDON"

The Lord roars from Zion and utters His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth tremble. But the Lord is a refuge for His people and a stronghold to the sons of Israel...(Joel 3:16)
The old country gospel goes like this “This world is not my home, I’m just a-passin’ through, my treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue…” (This World is Not My Home,   ). The words to this classic are absolutely true and each day brings The Day closer, when this promise will be sight.

It is the hope of every Christian, guaranteed in Scripture, to be with the Creator Jesus Christ for all eternity. Even those who do not wish to commit to Christ as Lord, but call themselves Christians claim the hope of Heaven. Of all the gems we have studied in the Amazing 3:16 Verses in the Old Testament (so far), Joel is absolutely thrilling in the prophetic statement from the soon-coming King of Heaven – Jesus!

When the Old Testament prophets are time-lined with the Taking Up (what some called the Rapture in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17); the man of sin (AntiChrist) of 2 Thessalonians 2 and then the events of the Book of Revelation are added in, we see a swift end to the current scheme of things.  The only thing holding back the End of the Church Age. Syncing with the Rapture, is the spread of the Gospel to ALL the Ends of the Earth. God loves this world and cares for lost and hurting people so much that His Grace extends to the remaining 25% of the known world, that has not heard the Good News of Salvation through Jesus.

In rapid succession, here are some scary warnings of coming actions by Almighty God against rebels, as He Himself states in Joel Chapter 3:
“I will restore….Jerusalem. (Verse 1)
“I will bring together the armies of the world ….at Armageddon! (Verse 2a)
“I will judge them for hurting My people….” (Verse 2b)
“I will strike very suddenly and pay you back (for attacking my people)….” (Verse 4b)
“I will pay you back for everything you have done…”(Verse 7a) and then the Lord goes on to tell of the fate of the children of perdition.

The entire world acts like there are no consequences to their pervasive actions against unborn children, the people of God and the people of the Bible. They act in willful ignorance, unaware their actions will bring a reaction from Above which none of them will expect or can handle when the Fury of Heaven is unleashed on them.

This chapter prophesies in clear detail, the coming Battle of Armageddon (or the valley of Jehoshaphat).  Today, in the nuclear weapon-equipped 21st century, we have world-wide armies with some scary military power. While China may have the largest army of human beings in the world (47.5 million active and reserve),  the United States still has the most powerful Army, Navy and Air Force in the world. Nobody can compare to the Navy Seals or the United States Marine Corps. Still, by time of the Armageddon showdown, the world will be under the rule of the anti-Christ.

So the Lord starts almost mocking the pagan armies of the world (from Joel 3). Then He invites them to the Final Battle of all History - Armageddon. Read the Bible. It is not going to be pretty. But at the end of it, better days are coming. While all these bad things are in store for those who hate God and refuse Christ, there are two promises for those who trust Christ and are called by His Name (born-again Christians).

PROMISE #1 - It is right there in Joel 3:16! In essence, ALL Heaven is going to break loose in an extremely terrible way, but for the people of God: 
- When the Judgment of the Lord falls on an evil and rebellious world, the Lord will be a "refuge" - a hiding place...and safe place, where no one can grasp the Christian out of the Mighty all-powerful Hands of the Lord. There is no place more secure than under the Protection of the Lord. Scripture tells us in Psalm 91 that "he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide (live, camp forever, rest) in the Shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my REFUGE and my Fortress, in Him shall i trust" (Psalm 91:1-2)
- The mention of the word "Stronghold" to the people of Israel could be a reference to the place to which the newly saved Jews, at the Second Coming, could "run to" and hide until the Battle is over. There is consensus that this "stronghold" is Petra - the safe city surrounded by natural walls of mountainous stone. Petra is currently in Jordan, but when the Lord returns, that will cease as He will control all of the Land. The original language for "stronghold" has a meaning of a safe place, a strong tower or a high place.

PROMISE #2 - God Himself gave this promise in the rest of Joel 3, after He has both come greet-self serving great beans and defeated the forces of the Common Good. Immediately after the Battle of Armageddon, with the Lord Jesus Christ living in Person in Jerusalem, here is what Almighty God the Father promises:
18 And in that day
The mountains will drip with sweet wine,
And the hills will flow with milk,
And all the brooks of Judah will flow with water;
And a spring will go out from the house of the Lord
To water the valley of Shittim.
19 Egypt will become a waste, 
And Edom will become a desolate wilderness,
Because of the violence done to the sons of Judah,
In whose land they have shed innocent blood.
20 But Judah will be inhabited forever
And Jerusalem for all generations.
21 And I will avenge their blood which I have not avenged, 

For the Lord dwells in Zion. (Joel 3:18-21)

SEVEN FAMOUS BIBLE VERSES #6: "NO WEAPON FORMED WILL STAND"

"No weapon that is formed against you will prosper" (Isaiah 54:17a)
This is an amazing truth for the believer as it was when the Almighty spoke it through the prophet Isaiah in Chapter 54. This is another of those most popular Bible verses which merchandisers love to put on bronze plaques, posters, men's ties, bible covers and more. Anyone looking at this promise can understand why we all love this portion of a fairly long verse. Quite simply, it reaffirms that if God is for us, who and this means - no one - can be against.

But like all the other world famous five previous verses we have looked it, context is everything. God may have spoken in riddles and Jesus did speak in parables. However, even those parables from Christ Himself, were full accounts which taught various eternal truths. What God is saying here in Isaiah 54 is full on incredible.

Just previously, in Isaiah chapter 53, Isaiah, under the direct Word of God, prophesied the Final Sacrifice which Jesus gave of Himself in the entire Crucifixion story, in stunning detail. The horror of what was done to Jesus by those who tortured and killed Him on the Cross, is laid out in full view as well as, the reason it happened. 

However, immediately, next up in Chapter 54, God turns the lights on. In Psalm 30:5 He says "though weeping may endure for a night, joy cometh in the morning". This joy is the Hope of Zion. The Hope of all who trusted in what just happened in Chapter 53 with the Sacrificed Life of the Suffering Servant - the Lord Jesus Christ.  For the entire chapter of Isaiah 54, God recounts the suffering and persecution of His people and extrapolates this to us, as our example of where we should put our Hope.
Isaiah 54:13-17, we read:
13 “All your sons will be taught of the Lord;
And the well-being of your sons will be great.
14 “In righteousness you will be established;
You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear;
And from terror, for it will not come near you.
15 “If anyone fiercely assails you it will not be from Me.
Whoever assails you will fall because of you.
16 “Behold, I Myself have created the smith who blows the fire of coals
And brings out a weapon for its work;
And I have created the destroyer to ruin.
17 “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper;
And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their vindication is from Me,” declares the Lord.

There is coming a Day, when we all graduate to Glory (Heaven) and all our children who believed in Jesus as Lord and Savior will "be taught of the Lord" (Verse 13a)...and BY the Lord. Heaven will be a place of instruction because the we only know a fraction of 1 percent of what we think we know on this side of eternity.

There is coming a Day when the "well-being" of the family of God will be great (Verse 13b) and He Himself will wipe away all our tears and there shall be joy forever more.

There is coming a Day, when we shall not fear the enemy and those who persecute Christians, the Elect of God, because the wicked will not stand in the assembly of the righteous (those who are saved). Psalm 1 tells us this Truth. All persecution, oppression and its false religion and ideologies will be gone. (Verse 14)

But for now, we see the goodness of God to even those who do not like Him and even war against Him. The Lord is good to both the just and the unjust, because He is always full of grace, love and long-suffering. He is always patient and wishes that none should perish away from Him. The rain falls on both the Christian and those who do not support us...evenly.  God is a loving God is continually gives us time to make things right before Him and our fellow man or woman. It was the Lord Who gave mankind the ability to make the same destructive weapons used against His people.

But God, He has a day coming when none of those supposedly superior man-made weapons will succeed against God's people. For The Lord Himself will descend with a shout .....and those who His will rise up to meet Him in the air. The blacksmith, whose talent built the weapon which will be used against a child of God, will see that sword melt in the enemies' hands, as Christ returns to take full control.

This prophetic promise is coming for the Day of Reckoning when the All Powerful Righteous Judge will call us into His Throne room as He vindicates us, and sets the Captives Free. Why is this possible? Because He, God, says so. When God makes a promise, no weapon, scheme or plan of man, can ever thwart it. Amen.

WORD OF LIFE, PART 21: "REAL HOPE COMES FROM HERE"

Previously, (Part 19, verses 145-152) we looked at how the Lord set up the

mechanism of addressing the deep matters of the Soul. Depression is nothing to be trifled with, but the Bible has the answers. The key to discerning is the wisdom of the biblically wise and experienced who are continually in sync with the Holy Spirit and can expound on the Words of Scripture, which were designed for the Soul.

There is no one more perfect and full of insight on the Human Condition than the Creator Who made us. He knows the end from the beginning and everything in between. One day when we get to heaven, it will be even more incredible. It is only then we will fully comprehend why our Heavenly Father sent His One-of-a-kind (Begotten) Son- Yahweh, the Lord Jesus to become like us, so His divinity can address our hurts and needs from first-hand experience. There is nothing, nowhere else in this entire thing called Life and the Universe, which is even close enough to spell the word “compare”.

So when the Lord teaches on the downer of a topic like Depression, He also shows us the way out. The way out is Hope. Hope is always there. However, there is a mechanism which the man, woman and child of God can access to easily grasp this Hope! This Hope is found in a renewed spirit, a restored heart and a right perspective.  In my upcoming new book, based on the actual Prayers of the Bible, we go deeper into the Divine Plan and Purpose of Prayer, by using the actual words of Scripture, in context, to accomplish that. But for now, there are several key points we can discern from these next eight verses of Psalm 119, which will help the lost, hurting and those in despair.
Psalm 119:161-168

161  Princes persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of Your words.
162 I rejoice at Your word, as one who finds great spoil.
163 I hate and despise falsehood, but I love Your law.
164 Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous ordinances.
165 Those who love Your law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble.
166 I hope for Your salvation, O Lord, and do Your commandments.
167 My soul keeps Your testimonies, and I love them exceedingly.
168 I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You.

The Oracles of Hope:
• Verse 161 is proof that the truly born-again has a heart and mind stayed upon Jehovah, fully resting in Him and NO ONE - no king, commoner or in-between, can remove us from Him. We have an eternal promise which will overrule death, because this world really has not power over us, except in a temporary sense. So be encouraged - we have already won!

• Verse 162 shows a person in distress, yet, such a person rejoicing in the Word, Power and Promises of God in the Scriptures because the Holy Spirit testifies they are true. Right off the bat, this is no minor thing or anything to be trifled with.

• Verse 163b shows from WHERE this Hope comes from. That is, “loving God, His Bible and the Word Who became flesh – the Lord Jesus Christ”.

• Verse 164 is explicit proof that a person grounded in Truth (of Scripture) will be full of non-stop praise and worship! Our life, our demeanor, our self-discipline and witness are also testimonies to the Resident Power within us – the Spirit of the Living Christ!

• Verse 165 is an ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE to those who believe God. Why? Because we are the ones who have the True Inner Peace with passes ALL understanding! The world cannot get us! We start hospitals and risk our lives for those who hate us and forgive those who trespass against us! Why? Because we have the Pax Domine – the Peace of God in Christ.

• Verse 166 is another absolute guarantee.  We all know what the Rapture of the Church is.  That is the time when the Living and the dead in Christ rise up at the Trumpet Sound when Jesus sends His Angels to bring His children home to heaven. That Final Rescue has been longed for by man since Jesus ascended back in to Heaven in Acts 1:9-11 and with every believer since. That Final Rescue is one day closer each day as there IS  a real timeline to events prophesied in Scripture. That Final Rescue will only be for those who obey God, love God and commit their entire lives to Him as Lord, Savior and Master.

• Verse 167 shows the reason we follow the Words of Scripture so closely, or at least try to, since we really cannot do this under our own power. We could, should and would want to be like Christ for one simple reason – He first loved us. There was nothing lovable about us in in our makeup and sinful life that will appeal to heaven to have mercy, love and compassion on us. It is ONLY Grace that we did not die in our sins and get dispatched to hell, as most of mankind was/is/will be. It is only God’s Love, which even when we were yet sinners, sent the Son of God (Jesus) to die on the Cross for us. We love Him and want to be like and obey His Word, not just because He saved us from Hell, but because He restored us to right standing before Him (justification)…..because He is maturing us in Him (sanctification)….to one day allowing us to spend eternity with Him (glorification). WOW!

• Verse 168 brings us to a major acknowledgement of one of the major Attributes of God – His Omniscience (all-knowing). The sooner people understand not just Who God is but How all Powerful and incredible He is, the better for us.  Our view of God determines the permanent condition of our souls, our standing before God and our effectiveness as His people. The more we study His Word, are obedient to the Holy Spirit, wonder at His Universe and love Him, the more we will come as close to a true knowledge of the Almighty, this side of Heaven.

WORD OF LIFE, PART 16: 'HOW MUCH LONGER?"

 When things go wrong, as they most certainly do on a regular basis, we are always tempted to ask "Where is (was) God?". The unsaved ask this question all the time. When a tidal wave hits and hundreds or thousands lose their lives? "Where was God". When a massive earthquake devastates Haiti and over 100,000 poor Haitians perish in this natural disaster, some ask "Where was God?"....and so on.

Even the most godly and observant and biblically sound Christians can ask that same question. Is it the right thing to do when we question God like this? It is. Christianity is the only thinking man's Faith system. We do know He controls everything as He is sovereign and we do not. In Luke 13:3-5, we see that the Tower of Siloam had collapsed and 18 people tragically dies in this accident. This is similar to a major construction accident today, anywhere in the world, of tragic proportions. This tragedy was reported to Jesus as reported in this Gospel passage.

The response of Jesus must have stunned a lot of people. Here is the brief account and Jesus' unexpected answer: "No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem? No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” (Luke 13:3-5)

There is a sobering and scary message from the Keeper of the Gates of Heaven here who said twice in three verses "unless you repent, YOU TOO WILL PERISH"! The key to understanding tragedy is this - we have to be ready to leave this life at a moment's notice. We must life a repentant lifestyle, always at peace with God. We must ask God to forgive ALL our sins (and He will, if we are really seeking forgiveness). We must have the peace and knowledge of His presence in our lives, which leads to salvation and being born again.
Psalm 119:121-128

121   I have done justice and righteousness;  do not leave me to my oppressors.
122   Be surety for Your servant for good; do not let the arrogant oppress me.
123   My eyes fail with longing for Your salvation and for Your righteous word.
124   Deal with Your servant according to Your lovingkindness and teach me Your statutes.
125   I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies.
126   It is time for the Lord to act, for they have broken Your law.
127   Therefore I love Your commandments above gold, yes, above fine gold.
128   Therefore I esteem right all Your precepts concerning everything, I hate every false way.
Psalm 119:121 is about the believer who has followed Christ and Micah 6:8, which tells us to do justice and walk righteously before our God. This is a person who is ready to stand before God once he/she passes from this life. However, this believer also seeks natural (or earthly) justice from those who relentlessly persecute.

This is absolutely in order. To ask for angelic protection is sound as each believer does have a guardian angel. This is what the author is praying for in this portion of Psalm 119.  During the many Israeli/Arab wars of the late 1960's-early 1970's, some former Arab soldiers reported on the Trinity Broadcasting Network that they had several Israeli soldiers cornered and outnumbered about twenty to one, on the side of a mountain. There was no natural way for the Israeli soldiers to come out alive from this strategic box. EXCEPT THIS - the now Christian Arab former enemies reported that when they got closer to where they thought they would capture their Jewish enemies, they saw huge 12-20 foot tall beings dressed in white with swords drawn....causing them to turn and run in the other direction!

Watch this video clip from a message I gave where we know from Scripture that "the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and He delivers them (Psalm 34:7). God does answer our pleas for help. He is our "surety" in these times of oppression and persecution (Psalm 119:122). But the key is to stay grounded in His Holy Word and constantly stay at the Feet of the Master seeking knowledge and wisdom from Him (Verse 123).

There are times when the tribulation is drawn out. In the recent past, several western pastors and missionaries have been captured and tortured in several Middle Eastern countries and even North Korea.  These are righteous people who risked everything for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, yet their payment was prison, torture and even death. Is God dealing with them (Verse 124) in His Mercy? When you look at the bigger picture, He most certainly is! 

Is it easier for us in the comfortable west to speak like this? Yes it is, but we also have our challenges.  In the increasing number of persecuted lands – from atheist China to the major Islamic and Buddhist countries, what is being done to the people of God is obvious. In western Countries from Europe to the UK to North America, the persecution is more subtle but just as deadly to the spread of the Gospel. In order for the persecuted anywhere, to keep the fire and passion going, we do need to rely more on the Word of God and His Promises. In the Middle East and Asia, God has been showing Himself in increasingly tangible ways to encourage His people, and not just in His Word. Most Christians on the run have no copy of the Bible and no way to get one. When this is the case, cry out to Him as in Verse 125.

Revelation 6:9-10 shows what is coming down the pike with those who are killed during the Great Tribulation (after the Rapture of the Church, when those killed for converting to Christianity during the worldwide reign of anti-Christ are under the Altar of God, asking "how much longer"). Persecuted Christians from various times in the last 2000 years, from the Roman persecution have been asking the same question many ask today- "How Much Longer"?  The answer is this- when all the world has heard the Gospel. Each day is one day closer. Our responsibility is to hate, despise and stay far from every shack or mansion which contains heresy, apostasy and misdirection. Conversely, we hold on to the Truth found in ALL 66 books of Scripture and every word of every verse of every chapter on every page of the Good Book (verses 127-128). Amen. How much longer? It could be, until we first see Him Face to face! As for those in Verse 126- leave that up to The King!

Zechariah 14:16-17  And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain.

As the Fall Festival of Tabernacles gets into high gear over the next few days, it is time to look at this important event through the Eyes of Christ and what it means to the Christian. Original given as a command to the Hebrews to commemorate their 40 years in the Wilderness when God provided food, manna from heaven, no sickness and clothes/shoes which never wore out. It also celebrates the time when His Presence was with them for those forty years- a huge cloud by Day and a pillar of fire by Night. 

Tabernacles or Sukkot (Booths) happens each year around the end of the Fall Harvest in Jerusalem and each  Hebrew was required to build a booth in their back yard or on their roofs and many in Israel or in practicing Judaism still do. It is the most joyful of all the major Jewish Feasts found in the Bible and is the only one which will survive throughout the 1000 Year Rule of Christ.  Jesus celebrated this major Feast as it is almost certain that as a man, Jesus was born in Bethlehem on September 30 in our Julian calendar at the time of this Feast! That is a point for another day.

John 7:2-3  in the New Testament records the following: “Now the Jews' Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing”. (NOTE: the brothers mentioned here are Jesus’ actual half-brothers: James, Jude and others!)…..then jumping down to John 7:8-10 “You go up to the Feast (Tabernacles), I am not going up to this Feast for my time has not yet come”. When He had said these things to them, He remained in Galilee.  But when His brothers had gone up (to the Feast of Tabernacles), then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret”.

Now, what is coming in the 1000 Year Reign of Christ WILL NOT BE IN SECRET! First of all we have to know just WHO will be present during that time which draweth nigh daily.  The most important Person present during the 1000 Year or Millennial Reign is the Living Breathing Person of the Savior Jesus Himself, sitting on the Throne in Jerusalem! With Him will be all who were born again and saved from creation to the Rapture and the Tribulations saints.  There will be King David, Abraham, Adam, Abel, Noah, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Samson, Samuel, Peter, Paul, Mary, Martha, Tyndale, Joan of Arc, Luther, Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, CS Lewis, DL Moody, Billy Graham, Franklin Graham and you and I among the millions.

it is interesting who will also be there – a bunch of unsaved people, living right alongside the Saints of God and the Armies of the Living Christ! Just briefly, after the Rapture of the Church, and then the Seven Year Tribulation which leads to the Return of Christ and the 1000 Year Reign of the King in Jerusalem, unsaved people will still be born in hospitals in St. Louis, Mo; London England; Rome; Cairo etc. The, the nations, will be living side by side with the glorified saints who have returned to the earth with Jesus Christ until the final sifting at the end of time.

In that time, even THEY - the Nations, even though they know just WHO sits on the Throne in an untouchable Jerusalem - GOD HIMSELF - in the form of Yeshua, King Jesus, will refuse to bow to Him! They will be required to go to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Tabernacles at the End of Every September - and they will refuse. The prophesy from Zechariah 14:17 will then be fulfilled and Christ will cut off their rain....proving once again He is STILL the Real Climate Changer! This is serious business, as is disobedience to Holy God.

THE GREATEAST SHOUT-OUT EVER (OR RAPTURE READY!)

This is the main reason why Christians should not be caught up in the culture, corruption and condition of society and why we are called to Holiness, being set apart for a latter day of Glory.  This concept also demands a direct and complete comprehension of General Grace and Goodness of God as well as the Saving Grace He dispenses to those who repent and accept Jesus as Lord.  Just briefly, General Grace is what God gives to all – air to breathe; rain for the crops; a home and a job and even all kinds of wisdom and wealth. 

As for the latter, think of men like Einstein (atheist); or even a libertine like Hugh Hefner: or all those Hollywood and tech billionaires; or the oil sheiks in the Middle East with the golf faucets and private jets. Their fame, wealth and extravagant, immoral living are only for a fleeting time in this life, for which they will be held accountable before the Holy One on the Great Day of the Lord. Now, they may not believe this is coming, but it is. In fact the majority of people in the western world think that those of us who believe in the so-called “Rapture” are touched in the head and off our collective rockers. They even say the word “rapture” is not even in the Bible! They are correct! The word is NOT. Rapture is the English word for the Latin translation the Bible (Jerome’s Vulgate) for being "caught up". 

We read, directly from the LORD to His messenger Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord". 

So there IS going to be a taking out of God's True People.  That also means there is going to be a leaving behind of fake Christians, cultural Christians, professing with their mouths-not-their-hearts "Christians", in fact anyone who does not have sins forgiven and have possession of Jesus Christ as LORD of their lives will be left behind. This is not some extremist wishful thinking or made up story. This is literally - Gospel! Here is the Creator Himself: "....and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.… (Matthew 24:39-41).

People in the mainline liberal protestant and other eastern churches disbelieve that at their own risk.  The main reasons for the declining mainlines churches and the Eastern Orthodox churches for not fully engaged in this Truth revolve around a total lack of knowledge of Full Counsel of God through Scripture, the Deity of Christ and the lack of understanding of what being "born-again"/rejuvenation really means.

This is the church. What about the many billions who refuse the free offer of Grace and the Gospel? What about those from the other "religions" and cults? Surely a Good God would not send them to hell, would He? Surely, some of these people passed laws giving people free housing in projects and public assistance to survive and do so for social justice. Surely, God (if He exists according to the atheists) would give all these and the atheists, and the blasphemers, and the persecutors a pass? 

There is no foundation for that wishful thinking, anywhere and in any theology. We fully expect the unredeemed to speak like that, but increasingly, more and more evangelicals are lining up with the rest of the perishing world and buying that "everybody gets in" fiction. In fact, more and more of them in today's mega-churches - almost 60% according to George Barna - are saying there are other ways to the Jesus Who said "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life...no one comes to the Father but through Me".

There is much more to this event of the ages, which is one day closer each day. More qualified people than I have addressed this fully and more in-depth, but this brief analysis is just to give hope to those who feel alienated from their hometowns and states and even the various countries, who read this blog on a regular basis. Whether you are under the boot of the resurgent communist party of Cuba, Russia or China....or secularist persecution in Europe/North America...or those of the moon-god religions of the east, there IS coming a day when the Midnight Cry will ring out from the Holy Angels. 

There is coming a day when the Master and the Commander in Chief of Heaven's Armies - Jesus - will say to His legions: "Go get my children". That day, will be the day, when all this insidious political correctness; all this evil; all this hatred against Christians in Nigeria, Iraq, Kurdistan, Syria, Pakistan, India, China, Iran, Cuba, Venezuela and even in so-called "enlightened" countries of the West....that will be the day when Jesus will separate His sheep (us in the church) from the rest and we will be in a state of eternal bliss, all together in the Presence of His Royal Majesty, forever and ever, amen.

THERE IS COMING A DAY.....(as the old Gospel song says)

Some Church Signs say it all!

A whole lot of Christians have been feeling like second or third class citizens in the greatest country in the world - America, founded as it is, on Christian principles. It does not matter if the country was founded, constitutionally, as a Christian country or not. The fact remains that the Foundations of America had its roots in the Gospel, Evangelism and the Bible. The country did not gain independence with just a war, but it was the great preachers and the Great Awakenings of the time which fired a new birth of Freedom.

The great George Whitfield, the British spirit-filled Methodist, who preached the Doctrines of Grace and Freedom in Christ up and down the Thirteen Colonies, leading thousands and thousands to Salvation and the famous Jonathan Edwards, were the catalysts. The numerous churches that benefited from these men's crusades and open air preaching, brought the message to villages and towns and even cities. This was actually the Christian fuel which energized the colonists and THEIR own preachers - the men who would later become known as the "Black Robe Regiment" (BRR). The BRR were the preachers of the American Revolution, who influenced their congregations (most of whom were in the rag-tag Continental Army) and their families into thinking that this cause of Freedom was in accordance with God's Will. Indeed, the British Red Coat Army was virulently anti-Christian in function and had no compunction about burning down a church or three if they got in their way during this American War of Independence.

There is a whole lot more about the rich Christian history and background of the American Experience from which we can learn. There are so many viewpoints on the US Constitution and its interpretation. However what matters most to us even more,  is not just the historical aspect of the Great American Christian Experience but what God says. 

Here is where the seeds of the movement to separate God from His people began in this country - with Paine and one of his fans, Jefferson. In fact, Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists, in response to the lack of protection on the Connecticut Constitution for religious liberty, which was used to promote the idea of "Separation of Church and State", which is now accepted. 

Just like the created right to an abortion, the notion that Thomas Jefferson was promoting the "separation of Church and State" is an overreach derived from a poorly constructed sentence, exclusively extracted from his reply to the Danbury Baptists: "I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature would "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church and State." What that letter implicitly implies is the government would not create a state religion as existed at the time in England, from whence the Baptists came. What the secularist, atheists and their sort used was the last portion of the sentence "building a wall of separation of Church and State".

Now there has been an extremely troubling mindset for decades, if not the last two centuries, which may have overflowed from one of the founding fathers himself. That man was Thomas Paine, the "conscience" of the American Revolution and drive for the freedom which created the greatest country which ever existed - the USA. After the War was over and the new Republic was in full swing, under President George Washington, the British-born Paine went over to France to fully indulge in his lifestyle - Atheism! His work "The Age of Reason" (1794) set Europe ablaze in furthering their rejection of the Gospel and Christianity and became popular with deists in the US like Thomas Jefferson, Ethan Allen and Benjamin Franklin - all heroes of the War of Independence. Jefferson and Franklin were not averse to religion in public life as they saw it as necessary for the public good. However, while the elites loved the atheists and his venom against Scripture and Jesus Christ (just as they do today), there was a backlash against Paine. He was called a "demi-human arch beast", "a loathsome reptile" and "an object of disgust, of abhorrence, of absolute loathing to every decent man except the President of the United States (Jefferson)". (Source: Wikipedia).

Charles Darwin took Thomas Paine's Age of Reason to heart and those in the evolution theory movement took his atheism to the extreme. Darwin's immediate family was so stunned that they created a story around this death that he died a Christian. Those in the secular humanist and atheist movement also took Jefferson's seemingly innocuous words to the extreme and are attempting to shut down any mention of Jesus in public life; the Bible and its moral/spiritual truths. It is always the case when a leadership movement in any sphere, conducts himself in an unworthy manner. His descendants and followers take it to the extreme of evil. Such was the case with King Solomon whose 1000 plus wives and concubines were mainly pagan and idol worshippers. Solomon's sons saw how he lived and worshipped the devil more than their father did, resulting in the Kingdom of Israel splitting into two with ten of the twelve tribes eventually being wiped off the earth, by the Assyrians in the 8th century BC.

It is against this backdrop which we find ourselves in the 21st Century. It is against the backdrop we get signs like the one above, where Christians and students of the Word of God - the Bible - know what is eventually coming down the pike. In a sense, this church sign pictured above is absolutely correct. 


In the next post, we will examine what the Rapture is, is not and why this sign addresses a truth which many would rather sweep under the carpet. 

AMERICA GONE WILD, PART 4 - ACCURATE1964 PROPHESY FROM PAUL HARVEY

"If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?"....Psalm 11:3

America is in a deep spiral into a pit of its own digging, allowed to slide into the spiritual wasteland it has become, by the same God Whom the country has rejected. Scripture warned, but no one listened. 
Romans 1:18: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness"
Romans 1:21-22: "because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools "
Romans 1:24a: "Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness."
Romans 1:26a: "For this reason God gave them up to vile passions".
Romans 1:28b-29: "God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness."

Here is the result of people without the Hand of God directing them, in a land with the biggest and richest churches in the world:
- the spread of violent islam across America.
- the spread of deadly viruses and unknown diseases.
- the endless drought in California where the culture spits in the Eyes of Holy God.
- the rise of violent swings in unpredictable and extreme weather patterns.
- the wars and rumors of wars.
- the rise of false religions and promotion of it by America's leaders in society and politics
- the eternally dangerous compromises of the Church, which undermine the Power, Purity and Position of the Gospel in daily life.
- the corruption of the education system by godless liberals, atheists and pagans.
- the lack of any leadership from the corner house to the church house to the state house and beyond,

Because God's undershepherds and His people have abandoned their posts to Sheol, we are left with the horrid panorama of direction less youth and listless adults. Fifty years ago, the great and late American radio host, Paul Harvey had a prophetic statement on his radio show, which has stood the test of time.

Paul Harvey spoke of things in this 50 year old audio clip, which did not even exist at that time in 1964, yet he was more than prescient, he was prophetic, as if the Lord Himself gave Paul those words. Listen to it and you will find motivation to try and effect transformation, rather conformity, in our own corner of our world. Good day!
