DAY SIX:
VERSE:
But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked....(1 John 2:5-6)
PRAYER:
Oh Most Holy and Heavenly Father, I think You that Your Word, Oh God, is written in the Heavens. I thank You that Your Word is Truth. I thank You that Your Words will never fade or pass away and therefore, because You keep Your Word, I pledge to do my part and keep Your Word hidden in my heart and shown through my actions and deeds, that Christ lives within me.
Lord, may Your Holy Spirit, the Spirit of all Truth, Wisdom and Understand Who keeps me permanently connected to the Eternal, fortify my will to keep Your Word of Truth firmly embedded, to keep it from shame and slander, to keep it from dishonor and degradation and to keep and guard it as jealously as You guard Your Holy Name. Your Love commands, compels and gives me confidence in Your Word to remain faithful to it, to obey it and dwell on it as our Savior did. Your Word says in Hebrews 5:7 that our Savior's prayers, cries and petitions were heard because of His piety, obedience and submission to Your Will and Yours alone.
Let us now walk in that Truth, in the Path of Persistent Obedience where He, the Lord Jesus, walked that we may too be found in Him, to the praise and glory of His Name. By this Truth we know we are His, in Him, in His Will and walking in His Ways. Lord we long to be like Jesus, and to live, walk, talk and rest in You as He did and may ALL our worship be Yours and His, throughout our lives, in the Strong and Mighty Name of King Jesus I pray, amen.

THE MEANING OF LIFE: PART 7 OF 12
A CHAPTER BY CHAPTER STUDY OF THE BOOK OF
ECCLESIASTES......CHAPTER 7
"A Good Name is...."
In 1987, former US Labor Secretary under President Ronald Reagan was a man named Ray Donovan. He was the first and only Cabinet official ever indicted for a crime and charged with fraud and more, along with several other construction officials from New York City. The jury took a relatively short time to find them all not-guilty on the first ballot. After the trial, Secretary Donovan made a statement, in the form of a question, which is still quoted today from time to time. He said "which office do I go to to get my reputation back?"
That is a great question in today's hyper-slanderous society, where social media and technology can take a lie half way around the world in 10 seconds and destroy a life time of integrity and honor, wisdom and right living. This is why a "good name is better" than Neo-sporin for that scraped knee or boo-boo from weeding the garden and hitting a rusty metal can deep under the tomato plant. That can be healed, but the damage to one's name is hurtful among other things. This proverb and others are the gist of this chapter of Ecclesiastes where the "preacher" Solomon is teaching many of Life's truth....read and listen, if thou willest....

Ecclesiastes 7
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Wisdom and Folly Contrasted
7 A good name is better than a good ointment,
And the day of one’s death is better than the day of one’s birth.
2 It is better to go to a house of mourning
Than to go to a house of feasting,
Because [a]that is the end of every man,
And the living [b]takes it to [c]heart.
3 Sorrow is better than laughter,
For when a face is sad a heart may be happy.
4 The [d]mind of the wise is in the house of mourning,
While the [e]mind of fools is in the house of pleasure.
5 It is better to listen to the rebuke of a wise man
Than for one to listen to the song of fools.
6 For as the [f]crackling of thorn bushes under a pot,
So is the laughter of the fool;
And this too is futility.
7 For oppression makes a wise man mad,
And a bribe [g]corrupts the heart.
8 The end of a matter is better than its beginning;
Patience of spirit is better than haughtiness of spirit.
9 Do not be [h]eager in your heart to be angry,
For anger resides in the bosom of fools.
10 Do not say, “Why is it that the former days were better than these?”
For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.
11 Wisdom along with an inheritance is good
And an advantage to those who see the sun.
12 For wisdom is [i]protection just as money is [j]protection,
But the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the lives of its possessors.
13 Consider the work of God,
And the day of one’s death is better than the day of one’s birth.

A GOOD NAME IS BETTER THAN RICHES
PART 7/12 ...OR CHAPTER 7 ON THE BOOK OF ECCLESIASTES
So many people are losing their minds in the world today. The Culture of Celebrity delights in building people up, only to tear them down. Many get to the finish line of life, only to stumble right before the tape - thereby blowing it all. We live in a time when one's word does not seem to matter...where up is down and down is up.It is and was never supposed to be like this. Hence the reason for my indepth TV series on the powerful Book of Ecclesiastes for the weekly Plumbline TV show. I went through a chapter per show, doing into the major themes and exhorting viewers to read the study the rest of the chapter themselves.
Chapter 7 really spoke to me about a critical need for everyone alive today, about how to travel the highway of life. You can read the entire chapter 7 here after watching the next 26.5 minutes of a teaching on it
