NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER (NDP) 2010, Illinois.

What an amazing spirit-filled event at the Illinois State Capital Complex, last Thursday May 6, 2010! We observed the 59th Annual NDP event with a Praise and Worship Service on a beautiful day, on the East Steps of the Capitol.
Prayed and fasted up for days and weeks, the Lord blessed, anointed, abided with and let His Spirit roam free among the inspired prayer leaders, worship leaders and the many hundreds of worshippers in Attendance! Not even sound equipment issues with the first praise song "HOLY GOD" (which I was blessed to lead) could stop the worship!
The secular/humanist attacks on NDP also helped to raise awareness of the day and this brought more prayer warriors and supporters out, who were looking to Praise our Great God from Mason City down to East St Louis! We had tremendous support in both the local secular media, as well as Christian radio!
The RFFM.org blog, a popular daily blog put out by friends of the Illinois Family Institute AND Business Men in Christ, also gave me ample space to make the case for Christ-centered prayer and intercession in the Public Square as we do each year! Click here to read that piece.
I used the following Scripture in part as part of my opening devotion before the Service began. Please join us again next year - Thursday May 5, 2011 for Springfield's first Sacred Assembly in held in wide open spaces! The following from Psalm 33 is from the Amplified Version (Verses 4-8)~~~"For the word of the Lord is right; and all His work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord. By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all their host by the breath of His mouth.

He gathers the waters of the sea as in a bottle; He puts the deeps in storage places. Let all the earth fear the Lord [revere and worship Him]; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him".
