NEW LIFE - A MONTH OF VERSES: JANUARY 9, 2017

VERSE: For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6)

FORMULA: If God is the originator of something, He seems it through. Q.E.D. (Quod Erat Demonstrandum - That which has already been proven)

ACTION: The verse explains itself. Our part in the equation is simple - yet sober and difficult without commitment and perseverance. We have to cooperate with Him. Without our acknowledgment of His Lordship over our lives, sanctification to the high standards He set, will be either slow or almost non-existent, since we do grow even if by a centimeter. Trust and obey, because there is no other way,

PRAYER: Oh most kind and gracious God in Heaven, creator of all heaven and earth and as Charles Wesley says He Who loves our souls, we repent this day for having fallen short in our reaction to that to which You have called us in Your and Grace to us. First of all, Lord, thank You for calling me to Your side. Thank You for sending the Ancient of Days to sacrifice His Life for the forgiveness of my vile sins. Thank You for saving me and sticking with me through this process of drawing me even closer. Thank You that as time is fleeting, You still call me, and all Who will listen to come to the Knowledge of You so much so that it will mold and transform our lives into what You would have us be and what you created us to be, Father, we cry out for Your longsuffering and mercy as we grow more and more into the Image of Your Dear Son, so we will not be ashamed on that Day, to the Praise and Glory of His Name, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen and amen.

NEW LIFE- A MONTH OF VERSES: JANUARY 5, 2017

VERSE: Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence. (1 Peter 3:15)

EQUATION: Accept the Lordship of Christ > Yourself + Knowledge of the Holy= Ability to Evangelize in Love.

ACTION: Modern free grace tells new recruits to Christianity that accepting Jesus "in your heart" is all you need for heaven. SHORT CIRCUIT! Sanctify Christ AS LORD means one thing - accepting Him as Lord and Master. This is the main qualifier for the true believer to share the Gospel effectively, according to Scripture.

PRAYER: Most High God, Creator and Keeper of the Universe, Thou art most worthy of Praise, Glory and Honor and we worship You and You alone, in the Name of Thy Son - my Lord and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Help us to comprehend what You are saying because it is so simple, we miss it on purpose! We refuse to submit to the Lordship of Christ because we want to make our own choices in life. However, You have made it clear that it is this same fact, from this verse, which will enable us FULLY to comprehend the Gospel of Hope, Love and Heaven so completely, that the overflow from our collective submissive hearts, will flow out to those around us. It is only in this way, many will even grasp Your true love, grace, mercy and long-suffering and the free gift of salvation and eternal life. Help us to be glued to this Truth, Almighty God, in Jesus' Holy Name, we pray. Amen

WHY JESUS MUST BE YOUR LORD

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;  for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
(Romans 10:9-10)
There is a HUGE and severely important reason why the majority of western (and mostly North American) Christians do not live in victory, but fear and trembling. The reason actually revolves around the Lordship of Jesus Christ. To fully flesh out this in thesis form, it could take a couple volumes of books but the matter really boils down to some simple truths.

For a century or more, a church service or sermon would end by the preacher asking variations of the following: "would you like to ask Jesus into your....fill in the blank (heart, life, mind, soul)". Another modus operandi is to say ask folks to come forward "if you feel the Lord tugging you". That one is a two edged sword. A long time ago in my early walk, I did go forward - not to be saved, but to give a man a piece of paper with my sins written down, so he could nail it to the Cross in an act of repentance. All of these methods revolve around one thing - "ASKING JESUS TO BE YOUR SAVIOR"...or pick your words: "trusting Him" or "giving your life to Christ as Savior".

Very rarely you will see, hear or know a preacher/evangelist tell you that Jesus MUST be the LORD of one's life. In my opinion, and those of us who are maligned as "Lordship" people, their approach is severely lacking in doctrinal authenticity and could lead to many a false conversion. Nowhere in Scripture does the Bible prescribe that a sinner ask "Jesus to be His Savior". Everywhere, we see the word "LORD"...and the verse above from Romans 10:9 is absolute proof!

In fact that first phrase of Romans 10:9 is proof of His Lordship! It underlines what Christ Himself says in Mark 1:15 - "Repent and believe the Gospel". In Romans 10:9, there is no "as" in the original so the text really is "of you confess with your mouth Jesus Lord" - that is acknowledging, agreeing, confession and proclamation that Jesus is Lord...and the belief comes from this declaration of Faith.

What really sealed the deal for me is this is Romans 14: "
For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living." Now, this is not a future event we shall bow the knew to Christ as Lord THEN. This has already happened! He is LORD NOW! Thus, He MUST be LORD of your life and mine NOW, not then. This all comes down to commitment, obedience and surrender.

What am I saying - that a person who does not accept Christ as Lord of their lives is unsaved? First of all, that is only going part of the way. To be fully a child of God, in the realm of the eternal and to have received the blessings of eternal life, one's sins have to be forgiven. It is not works to ask forgiveness for your sins and THEN accept the free Grace that cometh our way to enable the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord AND Savior of the world and us. The desire to change, have a change of heart when we come to the end of ourselves and the choice is stark before us THAT is the point where He will enable us to seek Him out, make peace through Him and use that Godly sorrow which Holy Spirit has put there in our spiritual heart, to leadeth us to repentance.

Here is where the full measure of Grace begins as we see the unpleasant and unsavory people we are... in the Nostrils of God... the kind of sinner we are and cry out "God, Father, Jesus, please forgive me!" When I was called by the Lord unto salvation, no one witnessed to me or had me repeat a mindless prayer. I knew fully what I was doing and made a conscious choice. Even so, it was only when I wrote my current (at the time) sins down and made an effort to have then nailed to a Cross that I really felt FREE and under the Lordship of Christ. Since that day, Catie bar the door. I am a seminary dropout with only a Bible diploma, via mail study, from Liberty University. It is the Lordship of Jesus Christ, total surrender to the leading and teaching of His Powerful Holy Spirit, my best Friend and the Father's Grace and love, which keepeth me daily.

Friends, this is the only way to have the peace that passeth all understanding. Is Jesus Christ the Savior, Messiah and the Anointed One? Yes, He is. But for that to truly mean something, He MUST be Lord of your life and mine, after rejuvenation and the washing away of all iniquity. Think on these things, obey Him and He shall lead thee unto the path of all truth! Amen.

NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER - DAY 1 OF 5 DAYS OF PRAYER

FIVE DAYS OF PRAYER (SUNDAY MAY 3- THURSDAY MAY 7, 2015)
Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our little ones, and all our possessions. (Ezra 8:21)
This coming Thursday May 7 is the 64th Annual National Day of Prayer. In order to observe this day, in a special way that could have impact in our local communities, five days of Biblical prayer is now launched here to focus on our hearts, minds, bodies and souls on what is truly important - become righteous before God.

The world is in the grips of rampant evil and what Jesus predicted is coming through - not just with wars, rumors of wars and natural disasters, but falling away and persecution. The voices who are prophetically proclaiming the Word of the Lord are virtually ignored. Regardless of the vast majority of people rejecting it, the Word of the Lord stands forever. Regardless of weak church leadership in the west sidelining the True Words and Judgment of the Lord and replacing it with useless fluff and compromise with this corrupt and perverse generation, God and His Truth never changes.

So as we go into the next five days of Prayer, culminating in almost every corner of this great nation praying on the SAME day, with one accord for the transformation of a nation. We focus today on the words of God's prophet, Ezra, because he was a man who faced the same spiritual and societal evils and more that we face today.

PRAYER POINTS FROM EZRA 8:21-23:
- FAST (Fasting is NOT a commandment, but Jesus did speak about fasting in the Sermon on the Mount and HOW we should fast, should we choose to do so. Fasting is a denial of the daily fleshly pursuits for a period of time and can range from a full fast of no food for a day or days or weeks; to a Daniel fast (veggies for 21 days or less); to a juice or meatless fast. Even fasting from electronics or television. The key to a fast is replacing all those things in your mind with Prayer and Bible reading. The more you do so, the more the flesh decreases...that He may increase.
- HUMBLE YOURSELF (John 3:30). Also humility is meekness, not weakness - just like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Humility is not pride put aside for a few days or a weak. It is a lifestyle of Submission to the Will of God. It is a lifestyle of Acknowledgement of His Lordship and it is now Doing what Christ demands of His disciples- The Paradox Principle, i.e. - take up your Cross daily and follow Him. This is the acronym I present: S.A.D. - Submit, Acknowledge, Do.
 - SEEK.  The very act of Fasting and humbling oneself now and always, is to seek God and more of Him. We already have 100% of the Holy Spirit of God abiding in us, sealing us until the Day of Redemption. There is absolutely NO second filling or third or fourth. We are saved once and Christ sends His Spirit to live in us alongside our own spirits and souls. What fasting, humility and its outflow - repentance - naturally lead to is to seek and pursue our Great God. Again, this can only be done by prayer, supplication and the Word.

WHY PRAY? Part 5 = BECAUSE YOU CAN!

BECOME A PERSISTENT PRAYER WARRIOR!
The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much....James 5:16b

A prayer warrior is a friend or a fellow believer whose walk with the Lord and
calling are both so supremely evident that you and I swear that when he or she prays, the portals of Heaven open up.  This is basically the essence of what
James,  the brother of our Lord , is saying in the second part of verse 16. The dictionary definition of the following English words convey a  lot of the meaning of the original Greek Text of the New Testament. Let’s take a look at each key word:
Effective: Producing the desired or intended result
Fervent:   Intense, impassioned, fired-up, zealous
Righteous: Acting in accord with divine or moral law:  free from guilt or sin.
Avail:  to produce or result in as a benefit or advantage
(All from Webster’s’ Dictionary)

In pure English, this portion of verse 16 simply means that a righteous person – one who has stayed up, prayed up and is completed made up – in purity of heart and motives before God –(by definition a passionate daughter or son of God) is so zealous in persistent prayer and intercession that when she or he calls on the Lord, well – He listens! The Lord listens and responds because this fervent intercession produces the result for the beneficiary, towards whom the intercession was intended.

So how does one become a person on whom the Favor of Abba Father rests? There is a way to become this kind of particular saint’s pleadings and prayers rise up as a pleasing aroma to the Lord, Who sits on the Throne. Prayer warriors are not born this way, because we are all given the gifts of Faith and Repentance through the Grace which saveth us. It is a Godly discipline which really can be learned!

So, how does one become a Persistent Prayer Warrior who walks in the Paths of Victory? Here are a five of many steps to becoming such a wonderful servant of the Lord:
1       --      A Persistent Prayer Warrior develops a repentant lifestyle. While a committed Christian sins less and less, we are still a people of the flesh, under the curse of Adam from the Fall of Man in the Garden. The best way to stay in this zone is daily confession and seeking forgiveness. What works for me is my own adaptation of Psalm 139: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any [n]hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way (verses 23-24)

2   -  Persistent Prayer Warrior determines to be intentional about praying the Scriptures out loud. This takes many forms – from Praying a Promise of God with your name inserted in the passage and requesting His attention, to just loving reading out a Psalm of Praise to Him – joyfully and with passion! What the Holy Spirit has taught me for over two decades is my need to learn Psalm 118 and say it daily – Give thanks to the Lord for He is Good, and His Mercies endureth forever. If  you did not cut your teeth in the poetic of the King James translation – any translation works, as long as it is Bible, and you are 100% engage with Abba Father, through the Lord Jesus. I picture King David going into battle....or even running from Saul in the wilderness, and he is quietly repeating the Psalms he ended up writing, to himself....like Psalm 54, fr instance "Save me O God by Thy Name and vindicate me by Thy Power (NASB, verse 1).

3  -   Persistent Prayer Warrior devours the Word of God. Psalm 1:1-2 says "How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night". The actual word in the original Hebrew for "meditates" is "HAGAH". This is not some passive word picture of some ascetic on top of a grassy knoll sitting cross-legged chanting some ungodly mantra. This is the man or woman of God actively seeking, finding and sitting with the Word of God - the Bible, and then LITERALLY DEVOURING THE SCRIPTURES until they are so embedded in you and I that the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. This is what YHWH - Yahweh - Jesus taught us when He slapped the devil down after the latter tried to tempt the Lord three times. Each time, the Word responded to a temptation by "IT IS WRITTEN".  What is written? The Word of God was written for us and is the Prayer Warrior's primary tool for intercession, praise, worship and wonder. Dig into and find the treasures which are therein, in the Bible, because the more you find, the MORE HE REVEALS!

- -  A Persistent Prayer Warrior disdains distractions and therefore, will not be defeated. We have so many things to occupy our attention - fancy electronics (ipads, streaming movies etc), music, activities etc.- but we cannot, should not and must not let our first love be overshadowed by the things of this modern world.  We must have our priorities firmly planted. The devil can only beat us if he can distract us long enough to be busy DOING and not daily pressing in. We are the only ones who can stop him cold in his tracks- and we do so by coming back to the Word, to prayer, to the Lord. We have all been there and been caught up in busy rather than the beauty that comes from sitting at the Feet of the Rabbi, the Teacher, the Master, Who gives daily wisdom as we renew our minds in Him.

- A Persistent Prayer Warrior decides that not matter what, even if we walk through an occasional desert when nothing works....even if we walk through an occasional dark and troublesome personal time when we are hard-pressed....even if we walk through with someone else or in our own lives, the valley of the shadow of doubt and despair...even if all of this happens at once, and someone calls on us to pray for a medical emergency, a situation with a child or a spouse, a financial calamity, an accident or something untoward, even if all of this is true at once or in double/triple portions, this kind of dynamic prayer warrior will NOT give up, give in or give short change to the person asking for your prayers but would stand firmly - on the Word of God and its Promises. Jeremiah 20:9 says: "But if I say, "I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name," his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot"

This kind of prayer warrior is the real deal. You and I will not quit and strive to become more like the man who wrote the Book of James. He prayed so much, and on his knees, that he who once doubted Jesus was the Messiah, came to be known as "OLD CAMEL KNEES". There are obviously more aspects, attributes and practical disciplines to becoming this man or woman whose fervent and effective prayer availeth much. In fact, an entire volume can be written on this matter....and am sure, many have been. But the only way it works, is not for a book to tell us, but for us to discover this gift and work on it, develop it and let it bless someone else.

This can only be done, by dedication to the Word and Wonder of God, through the Grace of Christ.
This can only be done because you and I love God and love people.
This can only be done, if Jesus Christ is LORD first, second and always.
This can only be done, if we devote our lives to serving Him, Who saved us by His Mercy, Grace, Compassion and Long-suffering and brought us into the Kingdom of His dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

THIRTY DAY PRAYER CHALLENGE - DAY 5

PRAY THE NAMES OF GOD

DAY 5
GOD IS ADONAI:

Adonai is such a complicated yet simple (in a sense) Name of God that it could take days to study it alone...and then you could never fully get to the end of the meaning of the word because it is as magnificent as Jesus is Himself!

The Bible uses both the singular and the plural of the word ADON. Adon is singular and could refer to men or angels (as in my Lord...when you and I are being polite or if a real angel visited us).

HOWEVER the plural ADONAI refers ONLY to GOD!!!

It would take too long and we would lose the attitude of prayer to explain the dozens of references in Scripture to Adonai. It would make an amazing personal or church Bible study to do that. But for now. Let's just look at two things.

Adonai speak of two important things to our Walk with God: Submission and Relationship.

Our Jesus confirmed He was Yahweh Who spoke to Moses in the Burning Bush when He told the Pharisees in John 8:58 ESV "Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” The words "I AM" is YHWH or Yahweh in the original Hebrew.

Yahweh is the Name you bow down to. You cannot be a child of God unless you submit to His Lordship and His Hand over your life. The minute you come to the end of yourself and realize that, repent of your sins and seek His Forgiveness, that is the ONLY point you are now saved!

This is the top end of the spectrum
Romans 10:9 says "if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved". The the word LORD here is "Kyrios" or Master or you and I coming to the realization that Jesus has FULL OWNERSHIP and RIGHTS over us!

This is the point where you full accept His Lordship and rule over your life. Once you give up the rights to, or as the Bible says "die to yourself", you are now a Child of the King....or He has you in His Hands. There is no more secure and better place to be than in the Hands of Jesus.

This is the point where relationship begins.

This is the point where we, lowly mortal man, reaches up to Him and call Him Lord and Master!

You are not saved or a follower of Jesus if He is not your Lord and Master!  This is the essence of this relationship, my friends.  The Bible is clear by the exact meaning of the words it uses. Either we believe it or we don't. There is no middle ground or black and white.

So Father, in the Name of Jesus, I submit to Your rule over my life. I recognize and confess and admit that YOU alone are God!
You are the first born of all creation.
You are the pre-existent God Who knew me before I was born.
You are the Great I Am, Who called Moses from a bush in the Sinai mountain.
You are the Great I am, Who confirmed in to the rebel Pharisees.
You are Adonai, the Lord and Master of my life.
You, Sir, have full ownership of me!
I surrender ALL rights I have to rule and run and even ruin my life to you.
I surrender all that I was, am and ever will be to You rule and direction FOR me.
I surrender every fiber of my being to you.
I surrender every thought, whim and every thing I will ever do to you.
I surrender all
I surrender all
All to thee my Precious Savior, I surrender ALL! ALL! ALL!

Take me, mold me, bend me, Adonai, my Lord and my God.
Take me, use me, send me, my Master and friend.
Take me, lead me, never leave me, my Shepherd and leader.

Jesus, Adonai, be the Lord of my life!
I am a possessor, not a professer.
You said that Your sheep know Your Voice and not one of Yours will be lost.
Adonai, my Master and Lord, that can only be so if I fully belong to You, Jesus!
So now, I again, confirm and affirm my complete submission to You, my King and thank you for rescuing me time after time and for giving me assurance that I am Yours and You are mine.

Bless you Adonai and bless our Daddy - Abba Father, with Whom we have covenant relationship, BECAUSE of You and the Cross of Calvary,

In Your Most Holy and Precious Name, I pray, amen!

TOMORROW - DAY 6 - THE NAME 'ELOHIM'
