SWEET HOME ALABAMA 2009
The Lutchman Family just returned from our dear Vicki's family reunion and visit to Northern Alabama (Huntsville, Al). Best Spring break ever!!
Great to touch back with her cousins, whom she had not seen for over 25 years and whom I got to know and become close buds with for the first time: Sam Howard and Edwin and Kerry Howard........both sons of her dad's brother Pastor Jimmy (Vic's dad was Pastor L. Wayne, a Southern Baptist preacher from Bama).
Highlight of the weekend - THE ALABAMA CHICKEN AND EGG FESTIVAL IN MOULTON, AL (!!!) nice bluegrass music by Dave Davis AND got to see Dale Jr's car (the No. 88 Chevy)!

THEN COMES SUNDAY
This is a great illustration of the Resurrection and how we should think of His Persecution and Crucifixion at the Hands of Evil men!
I used to wear crucifix necklaces with Jesus hanging on the Cross, until I came to a selfawareness that it was not right. He is NOT on the Cross anymore , He is not only Risen, but for the past almost 2000 years, He has been back on the Throne forever!

ONLY 9% OF US WITH A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW
George Barna, the respected Christian pollster, just released his latest survey on Biblical Worldview's among Christians and it is a humdinger!
The annual and wideranging survey revealed that only 9% of American Adults....that is NINE PERCENT of a country where most people still say they are "christians", believe the Bible is inerrant and true and live according to its precepts!
Even worse, here is what Barna says about Pastors!! When you read this quote, you will see why people in the pews have no clue what God says, means and means to say! In 2009, only 51% of American Pastors - you heard right - ONLY HALF OF US PREACHERS - have a Biblical worldview! Barna says that a Biblical worldview (and I agree with him) means: "it includes a belief in absolute moral truth as defined by scripture, as well as acceptance of six core biblical beliefs: the accuracy of biblical teaching, the sinless nature of Jesus, the literal existence of Satan, the omnipotence and omniscience of God, salvation by grace alone, and the personal responsibility to evangelize 1".
The breakdown goes like this according to Barna "Southern Baptists scored the highest with 71% while United Methodists finished at the bottom with just 27%. In between were 57% of pastors of Baptist churches (other than Southern Baptist), 51% of pastors of non-denominational Protestant churches, 44% of pastors of charismatic or Pentecostal churches, 35% of pastors of black churches, and 28% of pastors of leading mainline denominations 2"
Who's to blame? - Churches, Seminaries, parents and Christian media! Christian Media??!! YES!! The purpose driven movement, broke up more churches and caused people to turn away from God, due to it being a man-made plan promoted by slick marketing techniques. One year ago, Bill Hybels, (who started the seeker-sensitive movement with Rick Warren) admitted that his philosophy had failed miserably to make disciples! Good for him....but what about the over 12,000 churches in 45 countries who follow this unbiblical and led countless thousands astray. How do you put this toothpaste back into the tube?!
The greatest fault lies deep within the soul of man, who has been a rebel since the Fall in the Garden. Mortal man has been trying to play God since that time and from the Aaron's sons - Nadab and Abihu - to the false prophets in the Book of Jeremiah - to the Gnostics - to the "angels" who gave the "revelation" to Joseph Smith - to the many mistranslations (Jehovah Witness and Message bibles) - they have all attempted to devalue the True, Holy Spirit Inspired Word of God!
I have an opportunity to visit many churches over the years in various states and things are getting worse. Preachers, following the example of their TV counterparts, don't use Bibles any more, and preach self-improvement Tony Robbins-like "messages" that bear no resemblance to God's Word! No wonder pewsitters are confused!
Here is what God's Word instructs parents, even if the church has gone apostate and is cooked like the frog in the boiling water: Deuteronomy 6: 6-7 (NASB) ~~"These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up" There are many other verses to back this up throughout His Word. Psalm 119 is a tome of Love to our Savior about His Word.
For the sake of brevity, we won't look at them all, but just thank God for His Holy and Precious Word. If you wish to know how fortunate we are to be given It, read all of the book of Romans. We were given the Oracles of God. Woe to all those pagans, secularists, rulers of the Earth and the modern Church who deny its Truth.
To the 9% of us who have the True Biblical worldview of Life, let's keep our noses to the grindstone and plow ahead even harder. This way, we can each one, reach one (or more) for Christ before they have to answer to Him! In Jesus' Name, Amen

PRAISE HIS GREAT NAME! HOW THE LORD LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE ON MARCH 10, 2009!
2 Chronicles 16:9 (NASB) "For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His".
I am a living testimony to the Power and Presence of Almighty God! Praise His Great Name!
On March 6, I was at a Prayer Warrior Equipping Conference in Jacksonville, Il. led by Apostle Jim Chosa of the Montana Crow Nation. (Apostle Jim is one of my main mentors in the prayer movement). Later that evening, I began to feel ill and uncomfortable. Upon waking and returning to the conference the next day (about 45 minutes away), I found myself unable to walk or sit properly.
After getting home that afternoon, and doing my shift at an all day prayer vigil at church, I was again unable to walk and developed fevers. I later found out that a huge boil and cyst was developing in the area, where one sits! The fevers and chills soon followed with me being unable to go to church the next day or work the day after. After forcing myself to go to work the following Tuesday March 10, where I had some work to clean up, the pain was so intense, that I made an appointment to see my doctor later that day. By then, the cyst was about 6 square inches in area!
Once they got a look at this thing at the clinic, I was dispatched immediately to the Specialist, who fortunately was just across the street from Memorial Hospital! He took one more look at it and said we are off to surgery right away and he could not wait even 12 hours to work on it! Within 90 minutes, I went from sitting in a clinic office to laying on a gurney getting prepped for surgery at 10pm!
This was the providential Hand of the Almighty! A huge bacterial infection had developed in me where that cyst was and was three inches into my body. Had the abcess reached my organs within that 24 hours or the bloodstream, it was Goodnight forever! It's kind of like an appendix bursting and it was too late to make it to the hospital! Dr. Hoffman said it was the worse abcess he has ever seen in all his years of surgery! They poured a massive amount antibiotics into me because my fever was over 100 for most of the surgery. Again, the Lord Jesus kept me from getting hospitalized for days right after the surgery! I was discharged two hours later!
I don't know why the Lord let me live, but I am so grateful. A fast moving bacterial infection is nothing to joke with and am just blessed with how He lined up doctors and nurses etc to get this thing taken care of. I have a month to recover with a drainage tube preventing me from sitting for a long time, but it has led me to reevaluate not just my life, but how I can intensify my relationship with the One Who Saved me! It has been a painful and soulsearching process, but He restored not just the power of the prayer/encouragement ministry He has given me to work in, but the Joy of being in this blessed Kingdom assignment! It carries no riches on earth, just the treasure of being in that oh-so-close intense nearness with the Savior.
As I mentioned, these past weeks have been a walking/talking testimonial to the Power and Love of God....the God who not only GAVE IT ALL on the CROSS, but reached down and touched a nobody here in the cornfields of Illinois, who is just one of His footsoldiers. I love you Lord, and I praise Your Great Name!
"From the Rising of the Sun, to the setting of the same, the Name of the Lord is greatly to be praised!"

Victory Through Praise Ministries, which was launched that night as well as fun and anointed worship music led by Bernie and Vicki Lutchman, of Lutchman Family Ministries.

LINCOLN'S 200th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED IN HIS HOMETOWN BY ILLINOIS AND SANGAMON VALLEY YOUTH SYMPHONIES
The Greatest President who ever lived, anywhere - 16th President of the US - Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday was celebrated in Springfield, Il. recently. An emotional 2 hour concert of mainly Gospel and Patriotic music at the Prairie Capitol Convention Center attracted many thousands of citizens. Lincoln impersonator Fritz Klein, for WBBM and A&E journalist Bill Curtis and others took part in this amazing celebration! A salute to all US Military services and the St. Andrew's Bagpipes were some of the major highlights.
Photos show our son. Bernie Lutchman III, 4 year percussionist with the Sangamon Valley Youth Symphony on the kettle drums on "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". Fritz Klein's "ABE" does the famous Gettysburg Address!
INVOCATION AT THE ILLINOIS STATE GENERAL ASSEMBLY CHAMBER, FEBRUARY 14, 2009
On Saturday February 14, 2009, the Annual High School 4H Legistlative Mock Debate was held in the House Chamber of the Illinois General Assembly. It was facilitated by House Speaker Madigan (D-Chicago) and Republican Rep. Bill Mitchell of Central Illinois who led the dozens of young men and women through the Legislative process and history of this ornate chamber.
Thanks to all those who invited me to be their Chaplain this year and open the meeting with God's blessings!
